An ArtsCrush Literary Event at Bellevue Art Museum. La Sala Seattle and BAM are teaming up to host this literary reading! Writers Nilki Benitez, Catalina M. Cantú, Felicia Gonzalez, Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs, Donna Miscolta, Maria De Lourdes Victoria and Rita Wirkala present new literary interpretations inspired by BAM's exhibition Think Twice: New Latin American Jewelry. Come early for a docent tour of the show, hear music, savor wine and appetizers, and enjoy bilingual performances of a mesmerizing exhibit.

Nortenos Reading: Day of The Dead

Join Los Nortenos for a community-based event, including readings, celebrating Day of the Dead.  The reading will be preceded by the building of an alter during which all attendees are invited to participate. Please feel free to bring an ofrenda (offering) or momento.

The Day of the Dead is a traditional holiday that celebrates and honors the lives of family and friends who have passed. It is a festive occasion with calaveras (sugar skulls), marigolds, and the favorite foods of the departed. Pan dulce, juice, coffee, and tea will be served.

Book Release for John Burgess and Raul Sanchez

Today is the Book Release Party for John Burgess' new book . This book includes translations by Raul Sanchez of the continuation of Punk Poems (from Burgess' first book). John and Raul will be reading Saturday, July 16, at a private party. Readings around town to be announced.

Raul will release his first chapbook, due in late September. Details to follow forthcoming.
